Happy 2014!

Did 2013 go by in a flash or was it just me? Twinkle Toes tried to stay up until midnight but only made it to 8:50. I managed to stay up to see the ball drop in New York. That’s late for me.

In 2013, I decided that I actually enjoyed running. It all started with the Royal Family 5k during Disney’s Princess Half weekend. I was hooked. I wanted to learn and figure out what worked best for me to make running the best it could be for me. I ran 5-6 more 5ks to end 2013 and decided to up the any in 2014. So here’s what I have planned so far:

1) February 1st, I’ll be running my first Double Bridge (15k) run in Pensacola (local race).
2) February 21st-22nd, we will be going back to the Princess Half weekend and mom, Twinkle Toes and I will do the 5k (walking it with mom). Then mom and I will do the 10k (I’ll be running).
3) September 27th, I’ll be running my first half marathon at a Women’s Running Series event in Nashville.

In between that, it’ll be some local 5ks. I’m really excited and nervous all at the same time. So my goal for this year is to follow a training program, listen to my body, and complete the half marathon. Oh and to blog more consistently. :). I love reading the blogs I follow. And I thank all of those bloggers who inspire me to push myself out of my comfort zone!
