The house is decorated. The presents are wrapped. NORAD is tracking Santa. Merry Christmas, y’all! I hope you and yours have a wonderful one!
We’re having a different kind of Christmas Eve dinner today. We have a reservation. No cooking today! We’re a small family, just five (5) of us. So we thought, why have turkey and all the sides again? Didn’t we just eat that? And there were six (6) days less between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
After dinner tonight, we will open one present. Spoiler alert…it’s always Christmas pajamas. Since Twinkletoes and I have bottoms we love, I found us shirts and Mr. Man some bottoms. This year it’s a mix of Disney and Star Wars! Love!!
What are we having for Christmas Day?
Tomorrow, we are making chicken and dumplings. Delicious! My mom makes the best! We eat it with cornbread. My dad requested a cheesecake. Apparently, I make good cheesecakes. I made a traditional one with strawberry topping for Thanksgiving. This time we’re having a turtle cheesecake with a brownie bottom.
Fun Christmas away from home!
A few years ago, we took our Christmas to Walt Disney World! It was an extra magical stay. We loaded up the gifts and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in a one bedroom villa. The Wilderness Lodge is my favorite at Christmastime. It’s so comfy and feels like home. The decorations give you the warm fuzzy feeling.
From s’mores to fireplaces, the Wilderness Lodge is my resort of choice for a Christmas stay at Disney. It’s easy to get to the Magic Kingdom to see those beautiful fireworks or just to take in Cinderella’s Castle all lit up and glittering. And you can stay at the resort if you’d like to see it all. They turn on the music from the castle during the fireworks for the whole experience!
Wherever you are I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day! What traditions do you have? Do you mix it up from year to year? Can you get your family to wear matching pajamas?
Until next time, keep on truckin’!
